Leo Full Moon!!!
Through terrestrial exploration of celestial conversation, we Seekers and Keepers stoke the flames of inspiration. Our tribe Dances in the Dream and plants the seeds of higher seeing, then rolls around on Gaia's ground in gratitude for human Being.
Magic! The Dream calls us to Dance together on February 21st just as Venus and Mars will share their first of three embraces this year. Lend your gaze to the western horizon shortly after Sunset this month and you will find Venus and Mars gazing back. Not only will they match longitudes at 1.42 Aries (incredibly close to the Vernal Equinox point that represents new beginnings) on February 21st, but their relative declinations from the Sun's path will bring them within half a degree of one another latitudinally as well. This is celestial contact dancing at its finest. Venus and Mars make three meetings like this every six and a half years, but they haven't enjoyed a series of three exact kisses like they will on 2/21, 8/31, and 11/2 since 1996. The Yin and Yang dance together in a rare and beautiful way this year that is gifting us the opportunity to rewrite our relationship to relationship. And everything is relationship, is it not? More about that below here.
Today's Leo Full Moon (exact at 3:09pm PST) aligns to Jupiter who magnifies everything He touches. This is a different kind of "Super Full Moon" that comes to us from the 15th degree of Leo... exactly where Venus and Mars will embrace for the second time this year on August 31st. In the Moon Game I play, the Full Moon illuminates seeds planted at the time of New Moon two weeks before. I had tea with Aquarius to discuss on January 20th to discuss this Moonth's Game. If you've got fifty minutes to spare you can share that space with me here. Because your active life most likely will not allow such a lengthly visit, here's a brief synopsis of tonight's Leo Full Moon's activation of our Aquarian call to freedom, expansion of consciousness, and paradigm shift as it relates to this gift of relationship renewal:
The Leo Archetype reminds us of our call to creation and to the beauty of burning self-love. Leo is the roaring flame of our caldron. They say Leo needs the stage. That it needs the spotlight. Fiddlesticks! The stage needs Leo because Leo is the spotlight... the illuminated one whose flame roars so brilliantly that all candles can be lit from it. We've all had this experience of being so in love with another that we emanate an undeniable magnetism. But can we allow such a burning love for ourselves? Perhaps the key to avoiding the potential Aquarian shadow of avoidance is to activate this roaring self-love and creative spark. We've been coached to believe independence is poison to relationship, when it is, in fact, the medicine. May Jupiter's magnification of tonight's Leo Full Moon remind us that the gift of self-love gives more love to our community and to All That Is.
May this service of self-love be rich within the ink we use to rewrite our relationship to relationship as Venus and Mars embrace thrice this year. No doubt Venus' conjunction with celestial healer Neptune and Mar's conjunction to shamanic healer Chiron as the Leo Moon becomes fully illuminated are asking us to participate with the healing and reconnection of Yin Yang. You hold the medicine. The Leo Full Moon's Grand Fire Trine with Aries Uranus and Sagittarius Pallas Athena gives us another glimpse into this gift. Aires is the spark that starts the Fire and Uranus spinning in that Sign of the pioneering spirit with the South Lunar Node calls us to the self-revolution of reclaiming any pieces of self we have given away in the past. This intent is further expressed by the Asteroid Goddess of relationship Juno's strong opposition in Leo to retrograde Mercury in Aquarius. Sagittarius is the Fire's smoke that travels far and wide and rises to the Heavens. Goddess of Wisdom Pallas Athena reminds us that, even as Seekers who walk the path of independence, we never dance alone. For we are always guided and unconditionally loved by All That Is.
Here's to that and here's to you. See you on the Light Side of the Moon!
Love and Planets,
Gemini Brett
P.S. - I hope to see you Seattleites at Sutra Yoga next Thursday 2/12 for a dance with Venus, which I'm honored to say will be cosmically choreographed to the live music of the incredible Masaru Higasa!!! I will also be giving this Venus presentation, "The Thirteenth Flower" in Salem at Sacred Space on 2/13 and Portland at OneDoorLand on 2/14 (with Entheo, Marya Stark, Elijah Parker, and Andy Swanson!). More information here.
