Some things are worth waking up for. Moon and Saturn embraced as they rose in the East this morning and it was breathtakingly beautiful to behold, but what does it mean? This is the first time that Luna has checked in with the Ringed One since he moved into Sagittarius on December 23rd. Saturn will retrograde back into Scorpio in June to wrap up some unfinished business, but in September it's back to Sagittarius, which will be his home until December of 2017. Perhaps the Moon, who knows so much about Home, Hearth, and Heart, is checking in to make sure Saturn has everything he needs in his new digs. Centaurs tend to require different bedding than Scorpions, you know?
More importantly, Saturn's ingress into Sagittarius is challenging us all to step away from our comfort zones. Is this why Airbnb was such a mess for me in Mexico? Perhaps, but how can we truly seek adventure if we won't leave the walls of our homes? Safe to say "The Hobbit" would have been a short and disappointing novel if Bilbo had chosen to stay confined within the conditioning of his culture. But he did not! Sagittarius Saturn is a three year study that will give us the opportunity to rewrite rules limiting us from answering the call to adventure. And I'm not just talking about addictions to feather pillows and hot showers here. What core beliefs must we move away from in order to Seek Truth? Nothing matters more to the Fire of Sagittarius. Aries is the Spark, Leo is the Dancing Flame, and Sagittarius is the breath of the Smoke that travels far and wide and rises to the Heavens.
In the other direction, let us not forget that, until Aquarius New Moon on Tuesday, Luna is still engaged with the Capricorn Moon Game and nobody knows Capricorn like Saturn. Perhaps we are all being reminded how important it is for our open hearts to stay grounded during these dynamic days of gigantic growth. But didn't Tolkien also teach that trees can travel? Home is where the heart is so you ARE your Temple. As we trust the terrestrial and invite the celestial, we will know the truth that we are always protected, connected, and unconditionally loved by All That Is. Remember, "Not all those who wander are lost."
Love and Planets,
